Description

Perle (pronounced PER-LAY) is originally breed in Germany in the 1960’s from Northern Brewer. Perle hops were released to the public in 1978. Some European breweries have claimed that Perle is much like and a good substitute for Hallertau Mittelfruh. Others in the US and Japan however have disagreed with that assessment. Perle is said to have a pleasant aroma, elements of mint and pine with a hint of spice. Perle grows well in New York but has a pleasant aroma of plum mixed with floral and mint. NY Perle is an exceptional choice for Kolsch style ales as well as other lighter styles like Helles, Export and Alt Bier.

Aromas: Mint, Plum and Purple fruit flavors rounded out with Floral and Jasmine tea notes.
