Description
Developed in the 70’s by the Hop Research Institute in Huell Germany, Perle was developed to be a disease resistant alternative to Hallertau Mittelfruh. Currently it is the most popularly grown aroma hop in Germany, bringing many of the flavor characteristics of Mittelfruh to the table, plus a bit of mint, exposing it’s Northern Brewer parentage. In some crop years where the Alpha Acid is high enough Perle can be used well as a bittering hop or extract.
Aroma: Pleasant Spice notes with slight Citrus and Minty undertones.
