Description

Bell Captain (Canadian Redvine c.v.) is an aroma hop that is typically used in only late boil additions, including dry hopping. It can be traced back to some of the earliest hop yards in North America. Including the first hop yard in New York State, in Madison County in the early 1800’s. With its dense and profuse rhizomes, high vigor, excellent yield and disease resistance Bell Captain is a great growing hop. Bell Captain has a very high cohumulone content and low alpha acids it makes it a very interesting hop. Bell Captain will impart mild flavors of cherry, berries, grapefruit, pine and even citrus like grapefruit. Some brewers have reported a catty character.
